Hey, I'm Martin Bentsen and I'd like to invite you to take a peek inside Land an Agent, my 4-module digital video course created to help actors find and sign with a hardworking & reliable talent agent or manager.
Scroll down to watch two sneak peek videos from the course!
Land an Agent Sneak Peek Video #1 The Truth About Landing a Great Talent Rep
Most actors believe getting a hardworking and reliable talent rep is nearly impossible. They think it takes years and years of training, plus spending thousands and thousands of dollars on high-end marketing materials.
Well, the fact of the matter is that landing a great agent or manager is actually easier than you'd think when you strategize properly and know how to position yourself. In this short video, I'll show you why:
Key Takeaways:
Great agents and managers are NOT only looking for extremely experienced actors because they understand that talent can come at any age and from any background. The length of your resume and the amount of high-end footage in your reel is not nearly as important as most actors think.
Simple tweaks can make a huge difference in how interested a talent rep will be. By just changing the way you reach out to agents and making some simple adjustments to your marketing materials, it's possible to go from a 0% response rate to over 60% response rate (as I outline in the video).
Land an Agent Sneak Peek Video #2 How to Use Agent Masterclasses and Workshops Effectively
Networking is the name of the game, and there are a few simple ways to do it that don't feel "salesy" and "desperate."
In this video, I'll show you not only how to make the most of "pay-to-play" agent workshops and classes, but also how to keep in touch with the talent rep after the fact so they don't forget you, and eventually decide to bring you in for an interview and audition:
Key Takeaways:
It's super important to target the "Pay to Play" auditions you attend based on the agents you want to meet. Don't just attend any "Pay to Play" audition without doing your homework because that's similar to the shotgun approach where you mass mail your headshot and resume to 100 agents expecting to get a response. It won't work.
Don't fear spending money! If you're afraid to spend money on classes and seminars to meet agents, it's going to hold you back in your career.
When you go into the class, be sure to ask questions so you can form a relationship with the agent. You don't want to sit silently in the back the whole time and then ask the agent at the end of class randomly if you can keep in touch - it's better to build rapport throughout the length of the class.
At the end of the class, you should go up to the agent and ask them if it's OK for you to stay in touch as you continue moving forward in your career. If they say it's OK, ask them their preferred method to communicate.
Then you can begin using FollowUpThen to reach out to them once every 6 to 8 weeks, and over the course of time, the agent(s) will start to get to know you better, especially if you continue to send them info on the biggest and latest projects you're a part of. They will get interested in signing you as they start seeing you with bigger and bigger credits.
