​Imagine going from rarely getting auditions to suddenly getting over 10 per month... all in less than two weeks. That's exactly what happened to a client of mine after the following conversation:

"My agent rarely submits me anymore. Do you think I need a new one?" an actress said. "How do I get him to respond to my emails?"
 
​Fair questions.
 
But then she continued, "Maybe it's because I'm not established enough. Do you have any tips on how I can impress him?"

I thought for a moment. Finally I said, "That thinking is backwards. Your agent works for you. He should be trying to impress YOU. Set up a meeting with him right away and tell him what you want. Be sure to also mention that you'll start submitting yourself frequently and pull some extra weight."
 
Fast forward two weeks later and she called me to say her agent had already set her up with three auditions for speaking parts in television shows.

Less than a month later, she was going out on multiple auditions every week!

The industry makes you think you you're at the mercy of casting directors and agents, and that if you don't "follow the rules" exactly, you'll never get ahead.
 
But that's a lie I want to put to rest forever.
