Know ahead of time how many people will be in a group photo so you bring the correct lens.
Use the 85mm lens for a group photo so you’ll be able to fit everyone into the shot.
For a group photo in a conference room, it’s best to have a few people sitting and some standing. Have the group at the corner of the table so you can fit more people in and have it look more symmetrical.
It's good to have a few props in a group shot inside a conference room such as a laptop, company coffee mug, and perhaps a notebook or pad etc.Don’t use water bottles, cell phones or other things that may be distracting.Have people look like they are talking to each other, looking at the computer and pointing at something, like they are working.
People need to be very close together in group photos so everyone can fit into the shot.
You may have to back up a bit so everyone can fit into the shot.
Have people look at eachother, someone laughing, someone pointing, etc. in a group photo.
Show the person in charge how the group shot looks after the test shot, in case they want to change people around or change anything else before moving on.
When having several group shots for the company, it’s best to take shots in different areas so it won’t look artificial, repetitive and like they didn’t put much effort into it. Then they will have a nice variation of shots for their website.
Each different area requires another new lighting set up.
