About Mark Meissner
As a father of two—my daughter is 24, and my son is 21—I’ve experienced the journey of parenthood from infancy through college. I've navigated the ups and downs of raising children, including going through a divorce and surviving cancer while being there for them. These life experiences give me a natural understanding of what it means to be a parent and mentor, both on and off the screen.
My name is Mark Meissner, and after a long career in law, I decided to pursue my passion for acting. The courtroom wasn’t so different from the stage, and I've always thrived as the underestimated underdog. Now, I’m bringing the same resilience and determination that guided me through parenthood and life’s challenges to my acting career. I’m drawn to playing roles that embody depth and authenticity, such as fathers, mentors, lawyers, and detectives. For me, acting goes beyond just portraying a character—it’s about capturing the real-life stories and emotions behind every role. With the commanding presence honed through years of navigating life’s trials, my long-term goal is to continue challenging myself and eventually take on a significant role in a major film. |
Reviews
"I have worked with Mark Meissner as a coach and as a student in my film classes and found him to be talented, versatile, instinctual and dedicated to his craft. He has a knack for the comedic and can shift to the dramatic in the blink an eye. A joy to work with." - Stephen Singer, Professional Actor and Teacher of Film Acting at The Barrow Group |
"Mark Meissner is a brave actor who commits to anything he attempts. After a successful career as a NYC prosecutor and practicing lawyer, Mark brings that same passion and relentless desire to his work as a professional actor. He has great skill and range, from the fixer lawyer to the BBQ dad, coach to mobster. With talent to spare, he has quickly booked numerous lead film roles and easily gotten theatrical representation in the brief six months that we have worked together." - Annie Chadwick, Career Coach/Co-owner Up-To-Date Theatricals LLC |
"Working with Mark was smooth and easy! He took direction very well, and always brought interesting and fresh perspectives & ideas to his character and to the scene. He was able to believably play the role of a shady pawn shop owner with genuine nuances, and without creating a caricature. Would love to work with him again in the future!" - Zane Rizvi-Riemer, writer and director of "Debt I Owe" |
