About Mark Meissner
For over 20 years, I managed my own law practice, handling everything involved in running a small business—from client management to financial decisions and growth strategies. I've also portrayed business leaders on screen, whether as a small retail owner or a high-powered corporate executive. As a lawyer, I had the opportunity to cross-examine and work closely with countless corporate executives, and business owners, along with advising them as clients, giving me a deep understanding of the world of business.
My name is Mark Meissner, and after a rewarding legal career, I decided to pursue my passion for acting. The courtroom wasn’t so different from the stage, and I've always thrived on being the underestimated underdog. Now, I’m channeling the persistence and tenacity that drove my success in law into my acting career. I’m drawn to playing characters with depth and layers, such as business leaders, lawyers, detectives, and professors. Acting, for me, goes beyond performance—it's about revealing the stories and motivations that shape each character. With a strong, commanding presence honed in the courtroom and boardroom, my long-term goal is to continue challenging myself and land a significant role in a major film. |
Reviews
"I have worked with Mark Meissner as a coach and as a student in my film classes and found him to be talented, versatile, instinctual and dedicated to his craft. He has a knack for the comedic and can shift to the dramatic in the blink an eye. A joy to work with." - Stephen Singer, Professional Actor and Teacher of Film Acting at The Barrow Group |
"Mark Meissner is a brave actor who commits to anything he attempts. After a successful career as a NYC prosecutor and practicing lawyer, Mark brings that same passion and relentless desire to his work as a professional actor. He has great skill and range, from the fixer lawyer to the BBQ dad, coach to mobster. With talent to spare, he has quickly booked numerous lead film roles and easily gotten theatrical representation in the brief six months that we have worked together." - Annie Chadwick, Career Coach/Co-owner Up-To-Date Theatricals LLC |
"Working with Mark was smooth and easy! He took direction very well, and always brought interesting and fresh perspectives & ideas to his character and to the scene. He was able to believably play the role of a shady pawn shop owner with genuine nuances, and without creating a caricature. Would love to work with him again in the future!" - Zane Rizvi-Riemer, writer and director of "Debt I Owe" |
