About Jay Grushkin
After a successful 40-year career as a Wall Street lawyer, I’ve embarked on a new journey into acting, where I’ve often found myself donning the robes of spiritual leaders. As an ordained minister of the Universal Life Church, I bring a unique perspective to the roles of priests, rabbis, and ministers. My transition into acting began in 2023, thanks to my wife, who submitted me for a background role on Succession. My debut at Logan Roy’s funeral sparked a passion for the craft, and within a year, I appeared in 20 productions as background talent. While I loved the experience, I soon craved more challenging, speaking roles. I’ve since been cast as a priest in two independent films, where I’ve had the privilege of exploring the depth of religious figures. Though I’ve primarily played priests, I hope to fulfill my late mother’s dream of seeing me play a rabbi on screen—a role that would honor both my heritage and her memory. At 66, I’m embracing this chapter with the same passion and dedication that defined my career in law, and I’m excited for the opportunities ahead. |
