While I spent over 40 years as a Wall Street lawyer, my childhood dream was to become a doctor—an ambition inspired by shows like Dr. Kildare, St. Elsewhere, Mash, and Marcus Welby, M.D. Although organic chemistry (and my hypochondria) steered me toward law, acting has given me the chance to live out that dream by portraying medical professionals on screen. At 66, I’ve embarked on an exciting new career, bringing empathy and professionalism to roles like doctors, psychiatrists, and healthcare workers. My transition began in 2023, when my wife submitted me for a background role on Succession. After appearing at Logan Roy’s funeral, I was hooked, and within a year, I’d appeared in 20 productions as background talent. Since then, I’ve taken on numerous speaking roles, including playing a doctor in several independent films. Whether delivering a diagnosis or navigating the emotion of patient care, I sim to bring some humanity to every scene. |
