I used to think my life was set on a path I didn’t choose. I was two years into a finance degree I didn’t want, following a plan my parents approved of. But one night changed everything—watching Good Will Hunting and Dead Poets Society back-to-back during my junior year. That night, I realized I was tired of living someone else’s dream.
The next semester, I took my first acting class. It felt like a rebellion, but it also felt right. After graduation, I worked every odd job I could—Uber, Grubhub, DoorDash—to save enough to move to California and take this dream seriously. I gravitate toward playing rebellious youths, surfer/skater dudes, and even mobster types—characters who push back against authority and search for their own way. There’s something powerful in playing that struggle and journey. |
